Can Praxis Ambassador: LCol (ret’d) Richard Bowes, CD, MA, MBA

Richard (Rick) Bowes served as an armour officer in the Canadian Army from 1984-2003.

Rick released from the Canadian Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2003 and immediately began employment in the Canadian defence and security industry as a project manager with General Dynamics Canada (now General Dynamics Mission Systems – Canada).

Rick has since worked for several companies in the Canadian defence and security industry continually progressing through senior to executive level management and business development roles. Most recently Rick was Vice-President Digitization and Counter-Threat Products at KWESST Micro Systems Inc., a publicly traded (TSX-V, NADAQ) Canadian defence and security technologies company based in Kanata, Ontario, and now acts as a Strategic Advisor to KWESST guiding the company in its growth strategies to address the Canadian, US, and international markets.

Rick holds a Master of Arts degree in War Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada; a Master of Business Administration degree from Athabasca University’ and is graduate of the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College.
